Here are some specific tips for women to consider when dressing to appear on a presentation vodcast.

·         Sleeveless tops, plunging necklines and lots of flesh can take the viewers attention away from your face.  Is this what you want?

You have more control over your facial muscles to help you to express your story.  If you want to keep your viewer's eyes focused on your face, wear modest clothing.

The other issue is that women generally wear make-up on their face, not their arms or other parts of the body.  You don’t want your face to look different to other areas of skin that don’t have make-up.

This is not a hard and fast rule.  Just be conscious of what may distract your viewers attention and what you want them to be looking at.

·         Make sure your clothing fits you.  Baggy clothes look sloppy as do overly tight ones.  You need to be comfortable.

·         Women tend to be more creative in clothing choice than men but sometimes it can go wrong.  Try not to dress younger than you are.  Don’t dress in a way that suits someone else’s body shape.

Classic clothing tends to look best in news, factual and corporate vodcasts.

·         Avoid tight-fitting clothing that makes you uncomfortable even if it looks great.  Your discomfort will show and you want them to be focused on your story.

·         Some jewelry rattles.  Don’t wear this.  It is just as distracting as shiny jewelry.  The only person who can get away with loads of jewelry is Mr. T.
