A skeptics take on e-learning and our challenges
In this short opinion piece, Jonathan Halls explains why his skepticism of e-learning has enabled him to understand the exciting possibilities it offers learning professionals.  But he cautions us not to be blinded by the magic of this new tool but instead exercise critical thinking when choosing or 'choosing not' to integrate e-learning elements into our practice.  That way we get value for money.
 
     
  Dusty bones of curriculum
This is a re-print from the early 1940s of a newspaper article reporting a speech in Western Australia by the late A.J.Halls who headed up Schools broadcasts for the Australian Broadcasting Commission.  It's interesting because it infuses much of the same enthusiasm as evangelists for e-learning use today, back in the era when radio was considered 'new media'.
